"I've always felt really privileged to be asked to photograph someone’s wedding, as the bride and groom are entrusting me with capturing one of the most personal and special events of their lives.
When the day comes, I like to get close to the action but in a discreet and informal way, photographing the day as it happens, without intervening or directing. I'm always happy to take a few family group shots if my clients require it, but otherwise I blend in with the guests capturing the real story of the day. The portraits that I take of the bride and groom are also shot in an uncontrived, creative way so that they don’t feel uneasy in front of the camera.
With every wedding I photograph, my aim is to create a story book of images that reflect the genuine heartfelt emotion and atmosphere of the day. They should have an intimacy that make the viewer feel as if they were there, even if they weren’t. The images should tell the bride and groom's story in such a way that when they look back through them, all of their incredible memories and beautiful moments come flooding back."
